Tong Zhou received his bachelor degree of civil engineering from Shandong University of Science and Technology (Qingdao, China) in June 2015. He received his master degree of civil engineering from Southeast University (Nanjing, China) in June 2018 with a thesis about Implementation and application study of lead-rubber seismic isolation bearings.

Since September 2018, he is a PhD student in Tongji University (Shanghai, China). His PhD topic focuses on efficient reliability methods combining Probability Density Evolution Method (PDEM) and surrogate models. His research interests include active-learning scheme for surrogate construction, formulating novel learning functions, combination of surrogate modelling and dimension reduction, etc.
He joined the Chair of Risk, Safety and Uncertainty Quantification as a visiting student supported by the China Scholarship Council on February 17, 2021.
