IFIP 2018 WG-7.5

The 19th working conference of the IFIP Working Group 7.5 on Reliability and Optimization of Structural Systems (IFIP 2018) was held at ETH Zurich (Switzerland), June 26-29, 2018. WG 7.5 is one of the working groups under Technical Committee 7 on “System Modeling and Optimization” of the International Federation for Information Processing.

The purpose of the WG7.5 is to promote modern structural system reliability and optimization of structures under uncertainties, to stimulate research, development and applications of structural system reliability and optimization, to foster the dissemination and exchange of information and to encourage education on those subjects.

Specific topics of this working conference include, but are not limited to:

  • Reliability analysis of structural and infrastructure systems
  • Optimization of structural systems
  • Reliability-based design optimization
  • Life-cycle reliability and optimization
  • Modeling of damage accumulation, structural health monitoring and inspection
  • Reliability of special structures: bridges, wind turbines, offshore structures, nuclear power plants, space structures, etc.
  • Infrastructure risk assessment and management
  • Engineering risk analysis and decision under uncertainty
